President of Muslims for Progressive Values Tells How Acceptance and Diversity Honors Women's Rights

WCA announces musician, sing-writer, mother and President of Muslims for Progressive Values, Ani Zonneveld, is speaking to Honoring Women's Rights conference. Her message is based on a nurturing inclusive Muslim identity where diversity is celebrated by Americans and world-wide.

Coming out as a Muslim after 9/11 inspired me to form the Muslims for Progressive Values, as a peaceful statement.

Honoring Women's Rights conference invited progressive Muslim speaker, Ani Zonneveld, is slated to give a talk titled, "I am Sexier Than Brittany Spears" on September 8, 2012 at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas, CA.

Ms. Zonneveld is co-founder and president of national grass-roots organization, Muslims for Progressive Values (MPV). In conjunction with MPV, she is co-chief editor of Progressive Muslim Identities-Personal Stories from the U.S. and Canada.

Ms. Zonneveld came out as a singer/songwriter to the Muslim community after 9/11, which inspired her to form the Muslims for Progressive Values. As a mother, it was important for her to create a peaceful statement for her community by addressing Muslim women's rights in America..
