Qulsar Announces Gateway Clock for Flexible LTE-TD HetNet and Mobile Backhaul Networks
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) December 01, 2014 -- Qulsar, Inc., a provider of precise time synchronization solutions, adds a new class of Managed Timing Engine (MTE) called the M68 Gateway Clock to it’s next generation M6X series platform. A Gateway Clock adds functions to the Boundary Clock (BC) aligned with the Assisted Partial Timing Support Clock (APTSC) architecture being proposed within ITU-T G.8272.x Time Profile. The M68 comes packed with multi-sync capability including GNSS (1 PPS + ToD), IEEE 1588 PTP, SyncE and frequency. This offers not only high performance at a low total cost of ownership, but also improves the resiliency of the solution significantly. M68 offers vendors the greatest flexibility in deployment by enabling synchronization architectures that can be widely deployed both indoors and outdoors.
Operators worldwide are considering different form factor small cell technologies to solve indoor coverage problems given the penetration challenges of GNSS signals deep inside buildings where these cells are deployed. The industry is therefore looking at synchronization solutions that deliver 16ppb for FDD, 1.5µs for LTE-TD and .5µs for LTE-Advanced by using multiple sync sources to ensure reliable and high quality of service.
