Raycom Media’s Nationwide All-HD News Conversion Supported by Telairity Encoders

The Telairity BE8600 Real Time Contribution Encoder offers state-of-the-art H.264/AVC video compression in a compact and cost effective half-width 1RU form factor. Sized to go just about anywhere, in addition to standard rack-mount use, this compact 5 lb. unit can easily sit on a desktop or table top, or fit into ENG vehicles of any size or type, including vans, minicars, satellite uplink trucks, helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
The unit is also versatile enough to do just about any encoding task, including the most demanding low-latency applications, as well as all high-performance ENG, DSNG, mobile, and studio encoding tasks. In addition to archival high-bitrate 4:2:2 contribution-mode encoding for HD, the BE8600 supports low-bitrate 4:2:0 HD/SD modes for high-quality contribution links over crowded urban airways, where backhaul bandwidth is tightly constrained, and for direct-to-viewer distribution over MPEG-4 networks.
