Red Apple Reading is truly offering a service that is positively impacting the way students gain valuable reading skills.

With just over two years of development under its belt, there’s little question Red Apple Reading has been making significant strides in expanding its programming, accessibility, and affordability. The program aims to increase the early reading skills of youngsters through an interactive, responsive computer program, using lively characters with animated instruction and activities, and progress report access for teachers and parents. Since its creation, Red Apple Reading has worked diligently to increase its offerings and usability, expand accessibility from single-child families to entire schools, and partner with daily deal sites to make the program an affordable option for an ever-increasing number of users.

Now, the program has received accolades from Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA), an international awards program that recognizes outstanding offerings in family-friendly media. In February 2013, Red Apple Reading was named a Mom’s Choice Awards Gold Recipient of the “Seal of Excellence” in the Online Resources category for children ages 4 to 8. Red Apple Reading was selected for the honor by MCA’s panel of esteemed judges, ranging from parents and children to acclaimed authors and business professionals.

Tammy Bennecke, creator of Red Apple Reading, is both humbled and excited by the honor.

“Being recognized by Mom’s Choice is further confirmation that Red Apple Reading is truly offering a service that is positively impacting the way students gain valuable reading skills,” Bennecke said. “Knowing our program is respected by the MCA and its prestigious and diverse panel of judges is a real inspiration to keep building on the program we’ve developed.”

As Bennecke looks toward the coming year—“Seal of Excellence” in hand, she feels even more energized to make Red Apple Reading the most viable resource for young readers.

“At Red Apple Reading, we’re constantly working to improve, expand, and ultimately allow our program to help as many young readers as possible,” Bennecke said. “While we hope this award is the first in a long line of recognition, our sights are set on continuing to expand the impact we have on children learning critical early reading skills.”
