Satan has been operating in our world from the beginning

Author Rick Shoemaker warns readers of Satan’s far-reaching influence and shows how the armor of God is essential for overcoming this enemy in his provocative new book “Dissecting the Serpent: Exposing Twenty-One of the Devil’s Most Destructive Devices” (published by CrossBooks).

In a combination of biblical and contemporary accounts, “Dissecting the Serpent” identifies 21 different ways in which the devil works and discusses how readers can escape his pervasive influence. Each chapter closes with discussion questions, making it ideal for individual or group study.

An excerpt from “Dissecting the Serpent”:

“The book of Proverbs is filled with clear, concise advice to the reader as to how to avoid temptation’s trip wires. Proverbs 1:17 states, ‘Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.’ In other words, even a bird is smart enough to keep from walking into a snare that he can clearly see. Sometimes we would do well to be so ‘bird-brained.’”

This book would be relevant in any age,” Shoemaker writes. “Satan has been operating in our world from the beginning.”
