I’m very excited to ensure RiseSmart helps even more corporations put people back to work and create positive employer brands.

RiseSmart, the award-winning leader in next-generation employee outplacement services, has named as its vice president of marketing Heidi Lorenzen, a recognized technology marketer who brings 25 years of experience worldwide, creating value and accelerating growth for innovative technology companies. Lorenzen reports directly to RiseSmart’s founder and CEO, Sanjay Sathe.

“The RiseSmart team is delighted to welcome Heidi to the company’s executive team,” said Sathe. “Her rich experience and track record of performance in strengthening brands and generating demand, combined with her passion for organizational performance and employee potential are a perfect fit for RiseSmart. As we continue to disrupt the outplacement market and evolve to create increasingly beneficial relationships between enterprises and their employees, Heidi’s expertise will help solidify our value.”

Lorenzen has held executive-level marketing positions at several renowned high-tech companies including Polycom, Interwoven and Autonomy. Most recently, she headed marketing for GlobalEnglish, a cloud-based, human resources solution provider. Lorenzen also spent time as an international business consultant and worked with leading corporate and political leaders during her seven years at Businessweek magazine.

“RiseSmart is a company on the move as it innovates to support employees and HR leaders through a sea of change,” said Lorenzen. “I’m very excited to ensure the company helps even more corporations put people back to work and create positive employer brands.”

Lorenzen specializes in helping global technology companies optimize their brands, reach key influencers and increase their online presences – all with the goal of growing the companies and being of more value to customers. She helps marketing teams modernize their practices to better engage, serve and increase the customer base.

Lorenzen added, “I’ve found working with human resources leaders particularly gratifying because human resources is going through transitions similar to those in the marketing function. Like marketers, HR professionals are being viewed more strategically; technology and the social web are reshaping the way they do their jobs, and the expectations of those they serve; they focus on growing engagement; and they are increasingly under pressure to tie their performance to better business outcomes.”

Lorenzen regularly contributes articles on marketing to The World of Business Ideas and The CMO Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in East Asian studies from Middlebury College in Vermont and a master’s of business administration degree in international management from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
