RJ Lee Group Welcomes Dr. Brian Strazisar as Principal Investigator for Construction Materials
Monroeville, PA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 -- RJ Lee Group, Inc. continues to strengthen its Technical Consulting group with the appointment of Dr. Brian Strazisar to the position of Principal Investigator in the practice area of construction materials. Dr. Strazisar’s technical background and recent research, involving the chemical and mechanical stability of wellbore cement and oil and gas production, will play a significant role in the company’s continuing efforts to engage within the oil and gas industry as a whole and notably in Western Pennsylvania.
Dr. Strazisar was previously Principal Investigator at the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) where he worked on minimizing the impacts of fossil energy production and on the geological storage of CO2 for greenhouse gas mitigation. His most recent projects involved cement chemistry as it relates to wellbore integrity. His was the first research to reveal self-healing of cement fractures under CO2 storage conditions. This benchmark work has been cited extensively in technical journals and has been used to help define EPA regulations for CO2 storage. Dr. Strazisar received his undergraduate degree at the University of Pittsburgh and his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at Cornell University. He is the recipient of several awards including an R&D 100 Award for his part in developing a method for monitoring CO2 leakage to the near-surface.
