Rosco Teams Up With Thomas Built Buses’ C2 School Bus Platform at the Assembly Line to Create an Efficient, Seamless Backup Camera With Unique Mirror/Monitor Installation
Queens, NY (PRWEB) June 27, 2014 -- MOR-Vision is a patent pending, ultra-bright 7” color LCD monitor positioned on the rear side of tinted safety glass in a school buses’ large interior mirror. MOR-Vision’s brightness facilitates a clear and crisp video image from a reverse camera, with an optional second camera on the exterior side or interior of the bus to automatically be displayed for the driver to see. When the camera image is not required, a high quality and consistent full mirror view is present. After 2 years of research and design, Rosco was able to find the right balance between the mirror glass tint and the visibility of the high brightness monitor through the glass when needed. Federal laws in the automotive sector will mandate backup camera use on vehicles less than 10,000 GVW by 2018 and likely, medium / heavy duty vehicle laws will follow. MOR-Vision is designed to comply with all federal laws and performance requirements. The MOR-Vision mirror/monitor backup camera systems come in three sizes made to fit small, medium and large commercial vehicles. All three models display a high brightness monitor behind the glass when the vehicle is in reverse, while the normal full mirror view automatically reappears when the driver shifts into other modes of bus operation. It has two camera inputs which can be activated by cameras strategically placed on the exterior rear of the bus to ensure safe reverse operations, the interior rear of the bus to see students, or the exterior side of the bus to monitor danger zones and the loading/unloading area. The optional exterior cameras also include night vision and a built-in microphone so that sound such as school children talking, or an alert for a pedestrian can be heard.
