SAE International announces a new Meetup that delves into sensors for automated vehicles.

Presented by SAE – Innovations in Mobility, “Automated Vehicle Sensors with Sven Beiker,” will be hosted by AutonomousStuff on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m. at 1880 Hartog Dr, San Jose, CA 95131.

Dr. Sven Beiker will speak about a new SAE International EDGE research report that he edited and co-authored. The report explores the “unsettled” questions of automated vehicle sensors.

Dr. Beiker is a Lecturer in Management at the GSB, and the Managing Director of Silicon Valley Mobility, an independent consulting & advisory firm. He covers the electrification, automation, connectivity, and sharing of automobiles through the lens of new technologies and business models. Prior to his independent consulting work, he served as an Expert Consultant for mobility topics at McKinsey & Company for 2.5 years. Dr. Beiker also the former Executive Director of the Center for Automotive Research at Stanford. Before that, he worked at the BMW Group for more than 13 years. Dr. Beiker received his MS (1995) and PhD (1999) degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University in Braunschweig, Germany. He has published various technical papers and holds several patents in the fields of vehicle dynamics and powertrain technology.

This Meetup will feature a theme of “Octoberfest” and will include German-themed food and beer, music and decorations.
