Saint Luke’s Hospital Welcomes Mario F. Rubin, M.D., as Chief of Nephrology and Medical Director of the Kidney Transplant Program
Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) April 02, 2014 -- Mario F. Rubin, M.D., has joined Saint Luke’s Hospital as chief of nephrology and medical director of the Kidney Transplant Program. Dr. Rubin will lead a highly experienced team of nephrologists and transplant specialists who since 1969 have performed more than 1,400 kidney transplants.

Crouch, M.D., retiring chief of nephrology at Saint Luke’s Hospital. “Dr. Rubin’s outstanding skills and expertise make him an excellent choice to lead one of the most experienced programs in the region.”
Specializing in post-transplant proteinuria, hypertension, desensitization, and management of antibody mediated rejection, Dr. Rubin joins Saint Luke’s from the University of Arizona, where he was professor of medicine and chief of clinical nephrology, director of the Nephrology Fellowship Program, and medical director of the kidney and pancreas transplant program. In addition, Dr. Rubin has served as the director of nephrology education and director of the Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Dr. Rubin received his nephrology fellowship training at Georgetown University Hospital and his transplant fellowship training from Harvard Medical School at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.
Dr. Rubin joins Christie W. Gooden, M.D., surgical director of kidney transplantation, who completed her surgical/transplantation fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and Lee S. Cummings, M.D., who completed his surgical/transplantation fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
