San Antonio continues to prove itself time and time again as a city that's making strides.

Like many cities in Texas, the most recent real estate report shows that San Antonio is a stable market for home buyers and sellers. According to San Antonio Board of REALTORS® President Angela Shields, the San Antonio real estate market is holding strong thanks to affordability, low interest rates and job growth in the area.

The latest numbers show that in February, a month that's typically slow, there was a 3% rise in the average sales price compared to the same time last year. Unlike other big cities that fell 0.7-1.1% at the end of 2011, San Antonio enjoyed increases in property values that were over the 2007 levels.

In the current economic climate job security certainly is one of the factors causing San Antonio to stand out even amongst other affordable cities. The BLS reported that San Antonio was in the top 10 metro areas for projected job growth all the way through 2020. "San Antonio continues to prove itself time and time again as a city that's making strides," says Shields.
