We have done things like add vegetarian dishes, like our cumin-scented quinoa stir- fry, to the menu and made plans to add live entertainment in the near future.

Champagne wishes and empanada dreams await diners each weekend in Fisherman’s Wharf. Latin Grill Express is putting a zesty, new twist on the San Francisco weekend brunch with bottomless mimosas to complement their arepas and other fine Latin fusion fare Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.

Latin Grill Express features a pan-Latino-inspired menu that fuses together distinct regional Latin American flavors and traditional Cuban cuisine. Reviewers on Yelp are expressing enthusiasm over the difference the San Francisco Latin restaurant is making in the neighborhood with their hearty, house-made Latin fare made with fine local ingredients at very reasonable prices.

“We are trying to reach out to everyone who lives near and visits our wonderful lower Russian Hill / Fisherman’s Wharf locality,” said Diego Escobar, owner of Latin Grill Express. “We have done things like add vegetarian dishes, like our cumin-scented quinoa stir- fry, to the menu and made plans to add live entertainment in the near future.”

Most of the tapas at the Fisherman’s Wharf restaurant are substantial, 6 to 7 ounces, so that guests can share them or enjoy them as an entrée.

The dining room—with its uninhibited, yet unpretentious Latin décor—conveys the warmth and passion of Latin culture. In it, Diego and Lisa greet every guest with the contagious charisma and affection they brought with them from Colombia where they met three years ago. At the time Diego was serving American barbeque and Lisa was teaching. Now—just a few months after opening and growing the business through old fashion word of mouth—they have successfully carved out a special place in the hearts of locals and tourists alike.

Lisa Z. on Yelp writes: “Latin Grill is just great! Diego Escobar and girlfriend, Lisa make you feel so welcome in their new restaurant, open for dinner as well. Diego serves up Latin American food with heart. He takes tremendous pride in his offerings, having perfected his family recipes. This is not common, spicy Mexican fare, but rather South American and Cuban eats that are just delicious. The food is unique to San Francisco, the ambiance charming, and the prices are reasonable, a great place to go with friends and family!”

“From the costillas (ribs) to the tostones (fried plantains) to the camarones (shrimp) to the ropa vieja (shredded beef) to the sangria, the food is top notch,” wrote another Yelp reviewer.

Latin Grill Express is also serving half-price Sangria Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 4 to 6 pm.
