Alterra Pest Control blasts by company goal with 53,000 new accounts in a single summer—a feat rarely seen before in the pest control industry. As USA Today correctly predicted, this summer proved to indeed be a “Bug Bonanza.” An uncharacteristically warm winter and spring lured pests out a bit earlier this year, and in record numbers. Utah saw increases in spiders, wasps, and ants; Alterra Pest Control was ready.

At the beginning of the year, Alterra Pest Control set the specific goal of attracting 50,000 new customers in 2012. They opened 13 new locations nationwide and in May alone they added a combined total of over 10,000 new customers—they seemed well on their way to achieving their goal. As the summer progressed, it was clear that Alterra would far exceed their growth-goal. The recently opened location in the Salt Lake City area contributed approximately 4,700 new customer accounts to the staggering overall 53,000 new customers in a single season.

Alterra knew that the potential for growth in 2012 was large, and they approached this opportunity with careful planning. They wanted to be able to support their new customer base with progressive, environmentally responsible pest control as well as to increase the quality of their customer’s lives with every Alterra interaction.
