Sports Summit 818 is a two-day event focused on inspiring and educating the community through sport by providing health and lifestyle skills programs for children and their families. The International Hoops Expo is a basketball showcase where professional athletes can play in front of international scouts.
Los Angeles native and professional basketball player Frank Robinson has joined forces with some of the biggest names in professional sports to launch this first of its kind event. Athletes include Joe Crawford, John Wall, Paul George, Terrence Ross, Nick Young, Danny Granger, Pamela McGee, Reggie Smith, Jordan Crawford, Ryan Hollins, Malcolm Smith and his brother, retired NFL player Steve Smith. They will be hands-on in educating the participants on what it takes to be successful on and off the field.
Guided by professional athletes and skills coaches, participant’s ages six through 18 will be provided with instruction and feedback through a series of forums, exhibitions and camps.
The educational affair will commence with individual sports camps and skills clinics. There will also be panels with professionals in the sports world speaking about what it takes to be successful on and off the field (court). Specific activities include basketball and football skills academies, track meets and seven-on-seven flag football tournaments. The event will conclude with the professional athletes participating in an all-star game showcase. The International Hoops Expo will be going on throughout the weekend. Participating players will have an opportunity to try out in front of scouts from Mexico, Israel, Japan and China, as well as representatives from United States teams.

The Powerball Sports Forum provides participants an opportunity to learn from an all-star panel comprised of a sports professionals. This year’s panel of speakers includes legendary point guard and TV analyst Mark Jackson, professional football mom Audrey Smith, medical sports physician Dr. Patrick Khaziran D.C. and 2014 California State Coach of the Year
The Powerball Sports Forum is free to all registered youth participants. Adults and non-registered youth may obtain tickets for $25.00.
