Marlin Wire started the new year with a bang,” said the President of Marlin Steel Wire Products, LLC, Drew Greenblatt. This is Marlin Wire’s highest- quantity order in 2010 and “confirms our confidence for 2010. We hired three wonderfully talented people last week in anticipation of another strong year, surpassing even 2009, our best year ever.”

The work will be performed in Baltimore, MD by Marlin Wire’s phalanx of wire-forming robots. Marlin Wire will be starting a third shift to meet the tight deadlines for these complex wire forms. In fact, Marlin will be running the factory around the clock for the next year because of this contract. The initial delivery will be in one week, and Marlin Wire expects to finish the work by December 2010.

“Marlin Steel purchased a brand new wire forming robot in the summer of 2009 and it has been buried with some long term telecommunication wire form orders. Now the robotic wire forming machines will be sweating harder making military parts,” said Simon Matthews, Marlin Wire’s plant manager. Matthews declared “the wire forming robot we purchased is the fastest in the world bending wire 495 feet per minute and the bending pin can do ten full revolutions in less than a second (3600 degrees). This blistering speed enables us to keep up with wire forms and s-hooks like no other wire factory in the world.”

In the last 90 days, Marlin has shipped similar components, as well as wire baskets and racks, for many branches of the US military, specifically the Special Forces, the Army, and the Navy. “Requiring quick delivery and robust quality is standard operating procedure for the military, and we are transforming our company to follow their needs: quick and quality-minded. We want to be a valued partner of the US Military. We are delighted to support their efforts,” says Greenblatt.

“We have even provided medical wire baskets to the Veterans Administration to help heal our warrior heroes” continues Greenblatt.

Headquartered in Baltimore, MD, Marlin is the world's fastest manufacturer of wire baskets and wire forms and specializes in military, aerospace, medical, and industrial wire products. Marlin designs and produces wire baskets for dipping lines, washing systems, and material handling applications. Marlin employs precise check fixtures or gages for demanding clients who need to confirm products are adhering to prints with tight tolerances.

Marlin Steel Wire Products LLC has enjoyed five consecutive years of record sales through 2009, as well as record cash flow and profits. Marlin Wire has quintupled in size in the last decade. To keep pace with the increased order flow, Marlin Wire’s team has grown in size in the last year adding a new design engineer and two robotic set up operators.
