Supercapacitors, also called "ultracapacitors," combine the energy-storage capability of batteries with the rapid charge and discharge times of conventional capacitors. Supercapacitors can offload large instantaneous power demands from a battery to enable new functionality and extend battery life.

CAP-XX supercapacitors are the smallest and thinnest available today for any given ESR and capacitance. They pack a high energy density (capacitance up to 1.6F at 2.75V) and high power density (ESRs as low as 18 milliohm), into thin prismatic packages (from 0.9mm thick), suitable for use in slim, portable electronic devices such as camera phones, PDAs, digital cameras and multimedia players.
