T-System Aligns Business to Focus on Clinically-Driven Innovation, Promotes Clinical Leaders to Drive New Strategy
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) February 16, 2016 -- T-System, Inc., today announced the promotions of Robert Hitchcock, M.D., FACEP as chief strategy officer and Robin Shannon, RN, MN, MBA as chief product officer, who together will lead the company’s documentation and software business.
Hitchcock and Shannon will work as a cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions designed to improve clinical outcomes in emergency and urgent care. As T-System’s chief strategy officer, Hitchcock will drive the strategic vision for T-System based on his deep clinical, regulatory and operational expertise. Shannon, as chief product officer, will work to implement the vision through the development of products and solutions that leverage cutting-edge technology.
“Dr. Bob Hitchcock and Robin Shannon are highly respected leaders within our organization and among their peers in the healthcare industry,” said Roger Davis, T-System chief executive officer. “Their deeply rooted understanding of both the clinical and technology sides of healthcare has been critical to our success. Under Bob and Robin’s leadership, we will continue the ongoing integration of physician and nurse perspectives into the strategic evolution of our solutions. As a company, we continue to remain focused on aligning our business with the clinical needs of patients and providers, delivering outcome-focused solutions and leveraging promising new technologies that affect positive change in healthcare.”
Hitchcock, who will continue to serve as chief medical informatics officer, has nearly 30 years of experience in healthcare including 18 years of providing direct patient care. In addition to his role at T-System, Hitchcock is a practicing emergency physician and medical director for a freestanding emergency department based in Texas. He serves on the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA) board of directors and American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) EM Informatics section, and is a frequent speaker at national healthcare conferences and contributor to highly regarded industry publications.
"CMS recently announced that their focus will move away from rewarding providers for the use of technology and move towards the outcome they achieve with their patients,” said Hitchcock. “T-System has been focused on improving outcomes in emergency and urgent care for nearly 20 years, and we are thrilled to be so closely aligned with the future direction of healthcare in the U.S.”
Shannon is a veteran healthcare executive with more than 30 years of experience, most recently serving as the general manager for T-System’s flagship product line. She has expertise in new business development, operational improvement and revenue cycle optimization. Her clinical background includes serving as a critical care nurse and a clinical transplant coordinator. Additionally, she is a notable speaker and writer within the healthcare industry.
“This is a dynamic time in healthcare, and as a specialty vendor, the recent policy shift towards improved usability and interoperability will have a very positive impact on our business,” said Shannon. “We will spend 2016 focused on getting innovative tools that leverage our expertise in clinical content and workflow into the hands of more providers where they can improve clinical outcomes for patients.”
