Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) December 04, 2014 -- Team Jackson Kicking and Special Teams Football Academy are hosting the 3rd Annual Southern Specialist Camp in Hattiesburg, MS, December 12-14, 2014 for high school kickers, punters, long snappers and holders, according to kicking coach Brian Jackson of Team Jackson Kicking.

Jackson, who recently played in his 67th professional game for the AFL's Orlando Predators as a signed emergency kicker, created the Southern Specialist Camp with Coach Chris Husby of Special Teams Football Academy.
“Coach Husby and I have put a lot of thought and effort in the quality of this camp,” says Jackson. “This will be the 3rd Annual Southern Specialist Camp and we have fantastic staff coming together to coach several specialists, ages 10 to 20 from all over the South.”
Jackson says the camp has been very successful in helping high school kicking specialists make a college roster.
“This camp has provided the proper platform for high school seniors to make college rosters. We've had over 50 specialists in two years make college rosters after attending this camp,” says Jackson. “This camp has not only improved kickers, punters and snappers in the recruiting realm, but more so in their craft and mental makeup. This camp covers all angles of the Kicking Game, the recruiting process, proper film study and weight training, as well as fellowship with great people.”
Husby agrees with Jackson that the camp covers all aspects of the Kicking Game and adds this will be the best Southern Specialist Camp yet.
"I'm really excited about this camp in December; it should be our best one yet,” says Husby. “This will be our most complete staff yet of coaches with a superb knowledge of kicking, punting and snapping. And we are especially pleased to add the National Camp Series Evaluation as part of the camp.”

Jackson says each of the campers will be filmed at the event, adding the video provides the specialists with an important tool for specialist in pursuing their college kicking career.
“We pride ourselves on the filming of specialists to make sure college coaches are receiving validated film that they may choose to offer a scholarship or preferred walk on to these athletes,” says Jackson. “This camp is open to all high school specialists wanting to improve their game and get to the next level.“

The National Camp Series' (Kicking IndeX) Player Ratings are OBJECTIVELY based upon the data collected for several years. Think the "Moneyball" of kicking.
NCS worked extensively with a highly respected physics professor to take weather conditions into account. NCS collects weather variables from each event to normalize the events. It doesn't matter if you are kicking in Chicago, Dallas, San Diego or Denver, once the Kicking Index "kicks in," it is as if everyone is kicking inside.
NCS collects this data and separates them based on grade level. At the same time, the final NCS Kicking Index Player Ratings are compared to our Senior Class and JUCO divisions. The reason NCS does this is so that student-athletes have a goal to reach to demonstrate to colleges that they have the ability to kick at the next level.
