The American Club and Kohler Waters Spa Earn Top Ratings from Forbes
Kohler, Wis. (PRWEB) February 22, 2016 -- For the sixth year, the Forbes Travel Guide has honored The American Club hotel and the Kohler Waters Spa with its highest rating of Five Stars in its annual review of resorts and spas around the world. The guide is considered to be one of the most discriminating and influential arbiters of properties throughout the global luxury leisure market, and the ratings carry considerable weight within the industry. For more than 50 years, Forbes has enlisted professional inspectors to establish the benchmark for excellence in the global hospitality, and it has once again recognized these Kohler properties as among the best in the world.
The American Club is the only resort in Wisconsin to receive a Forbes Five-Star rating on this year’s list, and the same is true for the Kohler Waters Spa in the spa category. Described as “Wisconsin’s cozy hidden gem,” The American Club is also highlighted by Forbes for its “outstanding service and long list of amenities,” “standout” bathrooms, and “some of the most scenic and sought-after golf courses in the country.” The Kohler Waters Spa is noted for “a number of hydrotherapy experiences you won’t find anywhere else,” and for offering “some sort of fun and unexpected amenity at every turn.”
Originally known as the Mobil Travel Guide, Forbes originated the Five-Star system in 1958 and uses a team of “professional incognito inspectors and editors” to travel the world assessing the properties. These experts base their ratings on an evaluation of more than 500 criteria and define a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star property as “a destination unto itself;” asserting that “these exceptional hotels provide a memorable experience through virtually flawless service and the finest of amenities.” Spas rated with Five Stars will “wow you with extraordinary design and facilities, and uncompromising service.”

The Forbes ratings also recognized The Immigrant Restaurant with its elite Four-Star ranking. Experts praised its “friendly and polished staff,” and made note of its “young chef’s forward thinking cuisine.” Forbes bestows its Four Stars nearly as judiciously as its Five Stars; a Four Star rated restaurant must feature “creative, complex foods,” and offer a “focus on seasonality.” The Immigrant Restaurant was the highest ranked restaurant in Wisconsin on this year’s Forbes list, and the only one to receive a Four Star rating from its experts.
