The Canadian Centre For Addictions Launches Online Portal for Outpatient Treatment
Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) February 25, 2016 -- The Canadian Centre For Addictions launched a new online portal on Feb. 1, 2016 that allows patients to schedule and pay for outpatient appointments online, and in some cases, participate in a remote digital video conference with their dedicated therapist. Designed for the centre's inpatient alumni who live outside the Toronto region, the online portal will make it easier for all to access outpatient services.
"What happens after treatment is absolutely crucial to recovery," said Darren Chilewitz, Business Development Specialist with the centre. "We believe this portal gives people access to resources they'll need to keep carrying on in sobriety."
While detoxing from a drug or alcohol addiction at inpatient substance abuse treatment centers is a massive undertaking, virtually all drug and alcohol addiction treatment guidelines hold that long-term recovery is impossible without a detailed aftercare plan. Following a stay at an inpatient rehab facility, most people require ongoing outpatient addiction counselling. This could include group counselling, 12-step recovery meetings, or one-on-one meetings with drug and alcohol counselors.
Now, the Canadian Centre For Addictions' online portal makes it easier for new and existing patients to schedule and access these crucial services.
For instance, once a patient leaves the centre's residential alcohol rehabilitation program, he or she could continue to schedule appointments with their counselors remotely using video conferencing technology. Meanwhile, local patients can schedule and pay for ongoing outpatient services using the same online portal.
In addition, the centre has launched a virtual tour of their residential treatment center for interested patients who cannot attend an in-person tour of the facilities.
