Mastering Washington, D.C. and learning the unique aspects of student youth travel are some of the most important skills a tour director, guide or teacher can possess. The ITMI Signature Master Class provides a singular opportunity for learning. Divided into three segments, the class will teach the following:
- The five-day class is designed as a comprehensive student tour-focused training program. It will teach participants how to engage youth in their commentary and logistics to include safety and security factors using experiential learning exercises.
- The three-day class is designed to learn how to take static facts and turn them into learning opportunities using Washington, D.C. as an example location.
- A two-day class is ideal for those who want to learn Washington, D.C. logistics and commentary.
“Designed specifically for student tours, from hands-on field training to classroom instruction, participants will master the skills needed to conduct a memorable tour,” states ITMI President Joan Keddell. “Even experienced tour directors and guides can benefit from the specialized training that this class provides. Attendance is open to any interested individuals who want to engage more effectively with their students while on tour,” she added.
