Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- The Jones Payne Group, Inc. announced that the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) has published Report 89, Guidelines for Airport Sound Insulation Programs. The Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies manages ACRP and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) sponsors it. The Jones Payne Group led the team that researched and wrote the report, which updated the original guidelines first published in 1992.
Created for airport and agency staff, consultants, and contractors, the 325-page report is designed to help airports develop and manage aircraft noise insulation projects. The report features chapters on program development, community outreach, acoustical engineering, design of architectural treatment strategies, treatment of historic structures, HVAC strategies, green initiatives, product development, construction contracting, program cost development and funding, project reporting, and closeout.
“This research will be very helpful to improve current practices and ensure compliant airport sound insulation programs,” said Theresia Schatz, a staff officer at the TRB. “It significantly expands information available on best practices and current standards and requirements for sound insulation of homes, as well as for other eligible noise-sensitive buildings.”
“An important objective of the research contained in the report was to update and expand the content of the 1992 and 1995 versions of the Guidelines,” said Michael K.
