The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation Invites Applications for 2016/2017 College Scholarships

Marlton, NJ (PRWEB) February 09, 2016 -- The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation, a nonprofit affiliate of The Michaels Organization, is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2016/2017 academic year. All residents who live in affordable and military housing communities owned or managed by the companies of The Michaels Organization, including Michaels Management Services and Interstate Realty Management, are invited and encouraged to apply for a scholarship.

The scholarship funds, which are paid directly to the educational institution, can be used toward higher education at any accredited college, university, or vocational training program in the country.

The Michaels Organization Educational Foundation has committed at least $225,000 in scholarship funds for the 2016/2017 school year. Last year, the foundation received a record number of applications and awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships grants.

Foundation funds are raised through the financial support of corporations, companies, families, private trusts and individuals known throughout The Michaels Organization business network. In addition, Michaels’ Chairman and CEO Michael Levitt and his wife Pat Levitt contribute $2 for every dollar raised by the Foundation.

To date, more than $4.6 million in grants have been awarded, benefitting more than 2,000 students.

The 2016/2017 scholarship application can be downloaded from The Michaels Organization’s website and is available from the management offices located onsite at Michaels' affordable and military housing communities. “Kick-off” events offering students assistance with completing the applications and understanding the scholarship process are also being held at Michaels’ communities across the country during February and March. Completed applications must be received by the Foundation no later than April 15, 2016. Awards will be announced in June.
