The “Walking Dead Actress” Kerry Cahill, Horizon Goodwill, and AMVETS Release Video Supporting Veteran Employment Program
Washington DC (PRWEB) November 11, 2016 -- Horizon Goodwill launched a video this week with “The Walking Dead” Actress Kerry Cahill who is also currently the national spokesperson for AMVETS. Horizon Goodwill is a partner organization with AMVETS and provides employment services and job training for veterans. CEO, John McCain, said “We are thrilled to have Kerry Cahill working with us to help promote this program. She is an active voice that is needed to help raise awareness for our veteran’s employment project.”
The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a 4.9 percent national unemployment rate for all Americans (16 and over) for November 2016. That same report identified the unemployment rate for female veterans at 5.4% and male veterans at 4.5%. The veteran unemployment rate for men has declined since 2014 while the unemployment rate for women has stayed the same. Actress Kerry Cahill said, “It is important to help our veterans get the help they need to obtain employment when they leave the military. They have fought for our country, and now, we need to fight for their success.”
Horizon Goodwill’s CEO, John McCain said, “We believe in removing barriers and creating opportunities for all people. In our short time working with AMVETS, we have provided job training for more than 100 veterans and found employment for 22. We look forward to continuing this partnership and reducing the unemployment rate for both women and men veterans.”
