Sea World Orlando - a welcomed expansion will make it more competitive
No journey is bigger - or as incredible - as the one to come in 2013. It’s a voyage to the bottom-of-the-world, to the coldest and windiest continent, to a place of ice more than 9,000-feet thick.
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) November 04, 2012
This week, The Orlando Vacation Store, a lead seller of Orlando vacation packages, announced an increase in ticket prices for the popular theme park.
The price for a Sea World single-day ticket for adults was raised by $4, for a grand total of $89. The price of admission to Aquatica went up $5, making the total cost for a one day ticket $55.The price of annual passes was raised the most; a $30 increase raises the cost to $119.
The addition of the new Turtle Trek attraction made the park more popular as it showcased the park’s roots: conversation and rare oceanic animals. The main reason for the change, however, is the new ride, Antarctica that will open next year. It includes the ride, as well as walking areas, restaurants, and gift shops.
Sea World announced the new ride earlier this year, saying: “…No journey is bigger - or as incredible - as the one to come in 2013. It’s a voyage to the bottom-of-the-world, to the coldest and windiest continent, to a place of ice more than 9,000-feet thick. It’s a journey to Antarctica and to the empire of the penguin.”
The Orlando Vacation Store expressed interest in the new attraction, saying:
“SeaWorld vacations are famous for taking visitors out of the world they are accustomed to and shattering their perception of marine biology in an extraordinary zoo experience. The park is run like a rehabilitation facility and hospital for endangered and injured animals, allowing visitors to get closer than they ever could otherwise while educating the public and really making a difference. Seeing a new ride that focuses on conservation, rather than a coaster trying to compete with other popular theme parks is refreshing, and is true to the park’s mission”.
The new price sends a message to guests that Sea World is at the same level as the other theme parks, and that it will only continue to get bigger and better.
