Tuck-It-Away Self-Storage, with locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx, is offering a free month of storage to those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Tuck-It-Away Self-Storage is offering a month of free storage for New Yorkers and New York businesses severely affected by Hurricane Sandy, with no strings attached.

Tuck-It-Away has set aside 25 portable units for those in need for one month each, plus pick-up, moving support, and boxes. They are accepting applications on a first-come first-served basis. Applicants must present proof of residence in a flooded or damaged area, and answer a handful of basic questions outlining the specific nature of their needs.

Pam Sprayregen, Director of Marketing, says, “We were grateful that all of Tuck-It-Away’s storage units were spared from damage, and wanted to give back to the community.”

And for all New Yorkers, Tuck-It-Away is offering a free month of storage and two free boxes for new customers with a minimum stay of two months. Nick Sprayregen, President of Tuck-It-Away, says “We know some New Yorkers’ wallets are hurting after Sandy, with the lack of subways and price-gouging cabbies, and we wanted to offer a little financial relief as well. Additionally, we know people might be feeling a little more cramped than usual if they have extended parts of their homes to others. We wanted to offer the one thing that we really can, which is a little bit more space and breathing room for everyone.”

Tuck-It-Away is also setting aside money to donate to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City.
