Two Daddies-to-be Start a Living Scrapbook for Their Unborn Children on the Web
New York City, NY (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- New Yorkers Cooper Boone and Mark Veeder met on the footsteps of a beautiful old farmhouse in 2001 and have been inseparable ever since. They’ve had adventures, challenges, losses, and wins — a charmed life some would say. Yet through it all, the dream of one day having a family remained. That was all that was missing, but not for much longer.
The couple recently started their journey toward fatherhood and simultaneously decided to share their experience with the world on http://www.DaddySquared.com where they chronicle the highs and lows of the road for want-to-be parents. Their story is told in video, shared photos, and in their blog.
Boone and Veeder recently shared exciting news on the site.
On December 21st, 2013, after terrific effort and struggle, they transferred two fertilized eggs into, Veronica, their surrogate who has quickly become a very special person in their life.
On January 2nd, 2014, the call came in from the doctor’s office — they were officially future dads! Days later they learned they were having twins.
The couple sought out a regional leader in reproductive medicine utilizing gestational carriers, New England Fertility, and the practice’s founder and medical director Gad Lavy, MD. The clinic, located in Stamford, CT, works with many New Yorkers pursuing surrogacy, since the process isn’t currently legal in New York State.
Both media-savvy professional men, their goal for the website isn’t increased attention for personal or professional gain. It’s simply a 21st century scrapbook and diary that will tell their story for their kids and possibly generations to come, they say.
"Our blog is intended to be a living scrapbook for our children, family and friends. We are blessed to live in an age where we can creatively share our lives with others in meaningful ways," Boone says.
New England Fertility is sponsoring the promotion of the website as a community outreach to New York area LGBT singles and couples, a part of their long commitment to the gay community.
