University of Colorado Boulder Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program Launches Partnership with Juniper Networks Academic Alliance Program
Boulder, Colorado (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- The University of Colorado Boulder Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program (ITP) is pleased to announce a new partnership with Juniper Networks. Through Juniper’s Academic Alliance Program, the partnership provides access to assets and equipment from Juniper that enables ITP students to gain experience on different operating system platforms.
"We’re very excited about the partnership with Juniper’s Academic Alliance Program – it helps ITP provide the best resources and experiences to assist our students in becoming prepared to succeed and excel in their technical professions. We’re expanding the ITP lab facilities and diversifying our interior and exterior routing capabilities, allowing students to explore a broader range of network applications in a virtualized ‘real world’ environment," states ITP Director Doug Sicker.
"Our goal is to replicate actual market conditions in the ITP lab environment and expose our students to the best equipment and systems in the marketplace. Training on a broad range of equipment translates into more flexibility and diversity when entering the marketplace and pursuing career opportunities. Bottom line: students are better equipped to enter the business world," he continued.

"Many leading companies use Juniper systems, so having that experience makes ITP alumni very strong job applicants. One of the program’s strengths is that many on faculty come from industry and have real world experience – they understand what is happening in the IT marketplace and can impart that wisdom to their students. This, combined with experience in lab on different network applications, is a powerful advantage when alumni start applying for jobs."
