Velocity Products Announces Pending Introduction of Intelligent Toolholder and End Mill Assemblies for Okuma Machining Centers at IMTS 2016.
Windsor, Connecticut (PRWEB) June 23, 2016 -- Velocity Products, a division of Morris Group, Inc., will introduce a new line of intelligent tools designed, tuned and optimized exclusively for Okuma CNC machining centers at The International Manufacturing Technology Show, IMTS, taking place September 12–17 in Chicago. The result of a collaboration among several companies with expertise in toolholding, cutting tools, machining dynamics and distribution, Velocity SMART Tool™ products will enhance digital manufacturing for users of Okuma machining centers with the Okuma OSP-P control.

A component of the Internet of Things, intelligent tooling is a natural fit for sophisticated Okuma machining centers, adds Bauer. He credits partner companies Briney Tooling Systems of Bad Axe, Mich., BlueSwarf of State College, Pa. and Fullerton Tool Company of Saginaw, Mich. for their roles in developing and manufacturing Velocity SMART Tools. Products will be sold as complete and balanced toolholder assemblies consisting of a pull stud, toolholder, solid carbide cutting tool and BlueSwarf Dashboard™ interface for the Okuma control. Replacement cutting tools for use with Velocity SMART Tools will be sold separately through Velocity Products.
The new Velocity SMART Tool products will be integrated into several machining demonstrations at Okuma’s IMTS Booth, S-8500. They will be available to users of Okuma machining centers exclusively through the Okuma distributor network supported by Velocity Products, effective September 19, 2016.
