WellCare Donates Personal Care Products For The Homeless And Low Income In New Jersey
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) August 14, 2013 -- WellCare Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), a leading provider of managed care services for government-sponsored health care programs, recently donated 2,000 personal care products to the New Jersey Primary Care Association for distribution at homeless shelters and at Federally Qualified Health Care Centers (FQHCs).
The donation, made in conjunction with National Health Center Week, included first aid kits and personal hygiene items such as towels, hairbrushes, eyeglass repair kits and mirrors. They were distributed in Essex, Middlesex, Union, Passaic and Hudson counties.
In New Jersey, FQHCs are among the leading providers of health care services in low-income communities. Last year, approximately 422,000 patients made almost 1.3 million visits to FQHCs in the state for services, including primary care, pediatric care, pharmacy, dentistry and mental health.
