For 80 years, Louis Martini Winery has sourced world-class wines created from exceptional vineyards in Sonoma and Napa counties. Throughout the years, the winery has strived to not only produce amazing wine, but to also provide the best possible service and offerings to its wine club members. With its first wine club shipment of 2013, Louis Martini Winery is featuring two different expressions from Monte Rosso Vineyards: the 2010 Monte Rosso Malbec and the 2010 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel.

Requiring very particular conditions for a successful growing season, the Monte Rosso Malbec is a wine not often experienced by wine club members. It consists of 89.6 percent Monte Rosso Malbec and 10.4 percent Monte Rosso Cabernet Franc. This medium-bodied wine features a deep purple color, intense dark blueberry fruit, and chewy tannins layered with hints of smoke and brown spice. The retail price for this vintage is $60; however, members will receive it for $45.

Since this wine is not guaranteed from vintage to vintage, the 2010 Monte Rosso Malbec is only available for sale online, in the tasting room and through its wine club. At the California State Fair, Monte Rosso Vineyard received the honor of becoming the 2012 Vineyard of the Year.

Wine club members will also receive the 2010 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel in their March 2013 club shipment. This 100 percent zinfandel offers aromas of ripe plum, clove, cracked pepper and brown spice that are complemented by subtle hints of vanilla and barbecue spice. Full-bodied and firm, the 2010 Gnarly Vine Zinfandel has velvety tannins that give way to a long and spicy finish. The retail price for this vintage is $50; however, members will receive it for $37.50.

In addition to the upcoming shipment, Louis Martini Winery is inviting its wine club members to two upcoming events: the Cellar No. 254 Day on April 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the 18th annual Fourth of July celebration on July 4, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. To RSVP, please call 866-549-2582.
