Community involvement is one of the core values of 101 Mobility in the last weekend of February. 101 Mobility Austin owners Bruce and Debra Dowden upheld that value, by participating in Austin Muscular Dystrophy’s Muscle Walk event.
The walk is Austin Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) annual winter fundraising event. This year’s Muscle Walk took place at the Barton Creek Square Mall, and 101 Mobility Austin was among local companies that set up booths to present their products and services. 101 Mobility Austin’s area was marked by an 8 foot tall banner and their booth was stocked with flyers and brochures containing detailed product information.
“There were about 1,500 people and a lot of young people there – great turnout,” said Bruce. “There was even a four-year-old girl operating her own pink power chair. She just kind of pulled my heart strings.” Overall, the event was a record-breaking fundraising success for the Austin MDA and a great opportunity for the Dowdens to get 101 Mobility out into the community. Bruce and Debra were happy to be involved and look forward to partnering with Austin’s MDA in the future.
