101 Mobility’s Joel Brenner Serving As a Panelist for NCAPSE’s Spring Conference
Wilmington, NC (PRWEB) March 24, 2014 -- WHAT: The North Carolina Association of People Supporting Employment is holding their 28th annual Spring Conference later this week at the Courtyard Marriot in Carolina Beach. The conference focuses on increasing employer knowledge on effective hiring and staff integration practices for employees with disabilities. Several speakers and workshops make up the three-day meeting. On Thursday, March 27th,101 Mobility’s Director of Franchise Operations and Marketing Joel Brenner will be featured on the conference’s Employer Panel. The panel’s goal is to answer questions and share insights with prospective employers and job coaches about hiring employees with disabilities.
Joel was introduced to the NCAPSE Spring Conference through Carolyn Cole of Easter Seals UCP. During his time at 101 Mobility, Joel has hired two integral employees through Easter Seals and NC Vocational Rehabilitation Services. “Good Business is hiring the right people for the job,” said Joel. “Our employees came to us with valuable education and training for their positions.” For example, a job candidate could have indispensable life experience with a type of product, customer base, or form of communication that could deeply benefit them in their company role. Additionally, their knowledge can be an incredible in-house resource for other staff members to learn and benefit from. With such great success from hiring individuals through an organization like the Easter Seals, it’s important to share the positive experience with the NC business community.
The Employer Panel and other conference events are a great resource to both the disability-support community and prospective employers throughout the state. Other events include: Understanding the Affordable Care Act, Forum with the NC Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services, Understanding Vocational Services, and other staff training sessions.
