Coastal Carolinas Muscular Dystrophy Association recently hosted a “Mustache Bash” to recognize community members’ volunteer and fundraising efforts throughout 2013. 101 Mobility representatives Monique Williams, Lauren Davenport, and Alexis Babaian attended the event and were honored to accept a coveted “High Five” Award on the company’s behalf.
Fellow award recipients included Justin Verzaal, founder of Wilmington’s fierce power wheelchair hockey team Hotwheels. Area fire departments were also commended for their impressive fundraising accomplishments and their involvement with MDA Summer Camp.
Thanks to the MDA, children diagnosed with muscular dystrophy have the incredible opportunity to attend a week-long summer camp along with peers in similar conditions. The camp is uniquely outfitted and fully accessible so the children can enjoy a wide range of activities.
This past August, 101 Mobility was invited to attend a VIP Day at MDA Summer Camp. Representatives from the company partook in the day’s activities and captured a fun and heartwarming video of life at camp!
101 Mobility could not be happier about the past year and their growing relationships with Hotwheels, Justin, and Coastal Carolinas MDA. In the upcoming year, 101 Mobility has plans to return to summer camp for a costume parade and is also gearing up to take on Justin and rest of the Hotwheels team.
