165, 500 SF Sarnafil Rhinobond Project at Maine Mall
ROSEMONT, Ill. (PRWEB) August 15, 2018 -- A large area of Maine Mall’s existing roof was quite old, and because the owner will be installing solar panels our Portland team installed a 165,500 sq. ft. Sarnafil Rhinobond induction welded roofing system to make the roof watertight before the solar panels go in. A layer of 1/2" Georgia Pacific DensDeck was mechanically fastened over the existing EPDM roofing system after the membrane was cut into 10 ft. by 10 ft. squares. The white .060 Sarnafil PVC roof system was then installed.
A snap-on edge metal system was fabricated in house using sever-al different colors to match the current siding/fascia. Due to time constraints set forth by the mall to have cranes broken down and gone by 9 AM when the mall opened, multiple cranes were set up in the early morning hours on several occasions to get materials onto the roof. This large job was finalized in July, and the roofing system will receive a 20-year total system warranty.
“This was a large job with numerous penetrations, and everyone on our crew put in 110% to get this project completed on time and with minimal disruption to people inside the mall,” said Mark Drummond, Project Manager for Tecta America New England.
