Chino Hills Ford to Showcase Legendary 1988 Fire Truck at Family-Friendly Event
Chino, California (PRWEB) December 17, 2014 -- WaltersBayer-owned Chino Hills Ford invites families and children of all ages to enjoy a special addition to its lot – a fully-operational 1988 Ford fire truck that once served two fire departments in Southern Illinois. Complimentary rides and photo opportunities are available at the dealership’s Chino Hills Parkway location from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
“This is a unique opportunity for area residents to enjoy a little bit of old, and a little bit of new,” said Jamey Watson, General Manager at Chino Hills Ford. “Fire truck enthusiasts can take a trip down memory lane around our lot – and check out the latest Ford inventory at our recently renovated store, too.”
The 1988 C-800 fire truck was built at Ford’s “Kentucky Truck – Jefferson County” plant in late 1987, and features a Caterpillar 3208 diesel engine with up to 250 horsepower. After the addition of special pumping equipment by FMC Inc. in Tipton, Indiana, the 1988 model was in service for over 25 years at the Godfrey and Alton, Illinois fire departments (located near St. Louis, Missouri at the Southern Illinois border). Chino Hills Ford acquired the fire truck from Morrow Brothers Ford in Greenville, Illinois following its 2013 retirement.
