Automated Analyses and Reports Now Available for the F-Scan® In-Shoe Analysis System
Boston, MA (PRWEB) December 12, 2013 -- With the continued public focus on reducing costs in healthcare, providers are under increased pressure to provide justification for their care, leading them to seek new ways to measure outcomes and prove the effectiveness of treatments. The F-Scan system gives them that kind of objective documentation. It captures plantar pressure and timing data inside the shoe, so the provider can see what is happening to the foot during the stance phases of gait. Now, with automated comparative reports, providers can see the effect of custom orthotics and footwear instantly, and generate reports for payors, patients and referring physicians in seconds.
When asked about the usefulness of the new reporting features, long-time F-Scan user David Levine, DPM, C. Ped, responded, “The new version of the F-Scan software is user friendly, and there is more data to access, view and print. This makes patient education easier and more impressive. It is also much easier and faster to use – huge time savings in obtaining the data needed to analyze each patient.” Dr. Levine uses the F-Scan system at his podiatry practice, Foot and Ankle Specialists of the Mid-Atlantic in Franklin, MD.
In addition to the reports, F-Scan software now includes two new automated analysis features – Peak Pressure Analysis for identifying and evaluating high-pressure areas at increased risk for diabetic foot ulceration, and 3-Box Analysis for in-depth foot function assessments; as well as some new automated calculations. All of these new features make it faster and easier for clinicians and researchers to interpret the data the in-shoe system provides, helping them care for more patients in less time.
New F-Scan software is being shipped with all new system orders, and existing users can upgrade their software immediately to take advantage of these new features. For more information about the F-Scan system, visit the F-Scan webpage, call 617-464-4500 x425 or email marketing(at)tekscan(dot)com.
