danbury, CT (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- As the long-standing president of Preferred Utilities Manufacturing Corporation, David G. Bohn has guided the company to new levels of success. That success has allowed him to give back to the community in the form of charitable acts. In 2000, he became a Board Member for the Children’s Educational Opportunity Foundation of Connecticut (CEO). Since that time he has acted as the organization’s treasurer, and has helped it raise significant funds for children in desperate need of quality education.
In March, Bohn will celebrate his 14th anniversary of dedicated service to the Foundation. Originally launched in 1995, the organization quickly expanded to three locations throughout Connecticut. Its mission is to provide educational opportunities and scholarships to children who live in low-income households. As of this year, CEO rewards 400 scholarships annually, up to a maximum of $2,100 each.
This is not the first time Bohn has provided an essential service to his community. By day, he works to provide cutting-edge and customized power solutions to his company’s clients. Recently, Preferred Utilities was commissioned to become part of the World Trade Center rebuilding effort. The company manufactured a backup fuel delivery system designed to keep the structure running, even if the power to the mammoth 80-story building goes completely out.
David G. Bohn continues to devote his energy to improving the community through many other deeds. For instance, he has served as a coach for children ages six through 15 at the Reading Soccer Club for the past 16 years, and also coaches high school students at Central Christian Academy.
Bohn belongs to a myriad of professional organizations including the Redding Boys and Girls Club, and contributes readily to a host of medical and educational administrations, like the American Cancer Association, the American Lung Association and the Friedman Foundation for Educational Choice. All told, David G Bohn has invested thousands of hours to the underprivileged, sickly, and to key interest groups.
