Cate is the author/instructor of the course "Business Intelligence Training – the Microsoft Self-Service BI Toolset."
During the webinar, he will explain how Business Intelligence data that used to take months for highly specialized IT professionals to process can now be done in days by business professionals with the right tools.
“Business professionals now have the capacity to make key business data manageable and accessible, and turn it into insights that can fuel better business decisions through the use of a new set of BI tools from Microsoft,” Cate said.
Questions are welcome during and after the one-hour session, which will give attendees an insightful look at how BI is shifting from complicated data warehouse projects to a user-friendly self-service approach.
Cate also will provide an overview of the evolution of Business Intelligence and a description of Microsoft’s BI Tools:
• PowerPivot
• Power View
• SQL Report Builder and
• SharePoint
“These powerful, user-friendly tools can empower individuals to quickly and efficiently mine important data decision makers need, leading to better-informed business decisions,” he added.
To use these new BI tools in production, an organization must have deployed (or be planning to deploy) the on-premises version of SharePoint 2010 or 2013 Enterprise Edition and an instance of SQL Server 2012 Enterprise or Business Intelligence Edition as an add-on application server in its SharePoint farm.
