Oct. 24 Webinar Will Explore Using Microsoft’s Self-Service BI Toolset to Make Better Business Decisions
Nashville, TN (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- PremierPoint Solutions (formerly SharePoint Solutions) will host a free one-hour business intelligence webinar titled “What is Microsoft’s Self-Service BI Toolset?” on Oct. 24 at 11 a.m. Eastern time. The webinar will explore how BI can help organizations make better business decisions in less time.
Attendees will learn how a new set of user-friendly tools from Microsoft has made it possible for non-technical business professionals to make key business data manageable and accessible, and turn it into insights which can fuel better business decisions.
Jeff Cate, president of PremierPoint Solutions and author/instructor of the course Business Intelligence Training – the Microsoft Self-Service BI Toolset, will host the webinar and provide an insightful look at how business intelligence is shifting from complicated data warehouse projects to a user-friendly self-service approach.
While it used to take months for highly specialized IT professionals to gather, assimilate and share business intelligence data, now that process can be done in days by business professionals with the right tools.
“There has been a quantum shift in the business intelligence software market away from big, costly, complex and lengthy data warehouse projects toward fast and flexible self-service BI created by business users,” Cate said.
“Microsoft is leading the way with an integrated set of business user-oriented tools such as SharePoint, PowerPivot, Power View, SQL Report Builder and PerformancePoint. If you need to be able to analyze and share a wide array of business data in hours instead of months or years, these tools—along with proper training on how to use them—can get you there,” he added.
In the webinar Cate will give an overview of the evolution of business intelligence and a description of Microsoft’s BI tools. Attendees will discover how these potent tools can empower them to quickly and efficiently mine important data their organization’s decision makers need, leading to better-informed decisions.
Cate noted that to use these new BI tools in production, an organization must have deployed (or be planning to deploy) the on-premises version of SharePoint 2010 or 2013 Enterprise Edition and an instance of SQL Server 2012 Enterprise or Business Intelligence Edition as an add-on application server in its SharePoint farm. Previous versions of SQL Server can still be used simultaneously for storing SharePoint content.
