Babies are born with over 200+ toxins in their blood at birth (EWG, 2005). Dr. Vik Sachar, a board certified High Risk Pregnancy Physician, has created the World's First cosmetic line that is non-toxic and safe in pregnancy to limit fetal exposure to toxins.

Now there is a safe alternative for cosmetics in pregnancy.

"I want to give women a non-toxic safe alternative for their cosmetic needs in pregnancy" Dr. Sachar.

Dr. Sachar, a board-certified High Risk Pregnancy Specialist, recognizes that many products have ingredients that have been associated with breast cancer, obesity, adult infertility, and neurotoxicity. He is concerned about toxin exposure by the fetus. To address this he has created the world's first cosmetic line with makeup that is safe in pregnancy and non toxic. The FDA's role is to protect public health by assuring the safety, effectiveness, and quality of food, drugs, and cosmetics. However, according to Dr. Sachar, their role in cosmetics has been suboptimal; the Safe Cosmetics Act 2013 would dramatically increase the FDA's oversight of chemicals in cosmetics. Dr. Sachar reports that endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC) in cosmetics have raised concerns about the FDA's role in safety assurance. He confirms that EDCs have been associated with the development of breast cancer in women, prostate cancer in men, developmental effects on the nervous system in children, attention deficit /hyperactivity in children, non-descended testes in young males, and thyroid cancer (Houlihan, 2005). Endocrine disruptors may be found in many everyday products– including cosmetics, plastic bottles, metal food cans, detergents, flame retardants, food, toys, and pesticides.

"During pregnancy exposure of the mother to some chemicals, pollutants, and foods may impact a developing baby and have long-lasting effects on a child’s health even into adulthood," reports Dr. V. Sachar. "The best defense is to minimize the mother's exposure to EDCs during pregnancy."

Dr. Sachar has addressed this need by creating the world's first cosmetic line for pregnancy. "Our line is free of EDC's, and is safe and non-toxic for use in pregnancy. We wanted to ensure the safety of the pregnancy and give women a choice for their cosmetic needs."

The new V Sachar MD line, which has already received the Baby Maternity 2013 Top Choice of the Year Award, is being introduced at the ABC Expo in Las Vegas on October 15-18. The website (http://www.vsacharmd.com) will officially launch November 1, 2013, and will feature a special section devoted to information on pregnancy
