Integrated Medical Specialties, LLC will now assist primary care physicians in the Southampton and surrounding area take the initiative to become an accountable care organization. The new service is offered in light of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid announcement awarding lucrative licenses to doctor groups will to work together to reduce unnecessary medical procedures and protocols.

An accountable care organization (ACOs) is a group of health care providers who voluntarily collaborate together to provide high quality care to Medicare patients.

“Accountable Care Organizations are designed to lift a burden from patients, while improving care and reducing costs. Anyone who has multiple doctors may have experienced the frustration of fragmented and disconnected care can understand and see the benefits of a program like this,” stated Lee Ropiak, founder and CEO of Integrated Medical Specialties, LLC.

ACOs will work to reduce health care professional and patient frustration and disconnected care. For example, the program will decrease the chances of lost or unavailable medical charts, scheduling mishaps, duplicated medical procedures, etc. It will allow for doctor’s visits to streamline as it will ease access of information and previous medical history.

“Volunteering to move to an ACO format seems like a no brainer. It benefits both the health care professionals and the patients you see day to day. With over 5 years of experience helping doctors collaborate, Integrated Medical Specialties can assist in making that transition to an ACO within your practice smooth and as efficient as possible,” continued Lee Ropiak.

About Integrated Medical Specialties, LLC:

Integrated Medical Specialties LLC. was formed six years ago in anticipation of the increasing need for medical practices and physicians’ groups interested in enhancing the quality of health care, improving patient satisfaction and better controlling the growth in health care costs.
The integration of medical businesses structures refers to combining specialties such as cardiology with radiology or nuclear medicine. At Cabrini Medical Center in NYC, for example, we helped introduce CTA (CT angiography) capability and training to give beneficiaries new access to CT reads done by cardiologists. New innovative CPT codes for cardiologists were instituted as a direct result. At 5 East 59th Street we coordinated Nuclear Medicine with cardiology practices.
Today Integrated Medical Specialties LLC. works with primary care physicians and specialists who deliver primary care services to form their own Accountable Care Organizations.
