Small Business CEO Uses Crowdsourcing Giant, Indiegogo, to Raise Money to fund 12 Student Scholarships
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- Entrepreneur, philanthropist and online guru Chris Rawlins is the Co-Creator and CEO of San Jose Real, which aims to promote authentic and positive interaction via its website, podcasts and other social media about music, relationships, culture and life.
Chris is a strong proponent of education and recognizes that rising costs of higher education has left many bright and high-achieving high school students in the Bay Area without the financial resources to attain their goals, dreams, and ambitions of a college degree. As a result, Chris has partnered with other area professionals in starting a new financial scholarship fund through the combined organizations of Indiegogo.com and ScholarMatch.
The goal of the campaign will be to provide college scholarships for 12 very special and deserving students in the Bay area. This program will be offering more than just financial assistance. The campaign will establish a relationship of hope that will follow these young adults through their college years, by contributing to support and mentoring initiatives. When asked about why Chris has decided to take on such and enormous task he answers, "I want to specialize in helping motivated, focused students fill the financial gap with alternative scholarship opportunities. "
However, Chris invites you to help battle the rising costs of education also. The 12 scholarships will require a combined total of only $16,150 dollars.
"We can easily meet this goal with only 646 donations of only $25," Chris states.
It is the hope of the campaign that the wide reaching arms of the social media will help the Indiegogo Campaign to quickly “GO VIRAL”. All funds exceeding the original $16,150 will be used to help even more students from the California, Bay Area. Won’t "you" help with this noble cause?
