DeskAlerts Survey Finds 90% of Employees Engage Better With Image Based Communications
(PRWEB) October 14, 2013 -- The employee communication tool DeskAlerts has revealed the results of a brand new survey into employee engagement with corporate communications. The study found that a staggering 90% of employees considered that information presented via images helped with conveying what an idea was really all about.
The results of the survey are published in a brand new infographic which is out today. It states that one of the biggest problems with many corporate screensavers is information overload. Rather than clearly conveying a message, content heavy communication actually serves to conceal the part of the communiqué, leading to lost meaning and disengaged employees.
As part of its research into how corporate screensavers can be more effectively deployed as corporate communication tools, the DeskAlerts team spoke with groups of employees to find out how they best digest corporate content. The overwhelming majority (90%) agreed that presenting ideas and messages through images made it much easier for them to discern the point of the missive.
Anton Vdovin, Project Manager at DeskAlerts said, "It is known that the human brain is designed to understand information when it is presented pictorially through clear and bold images. Scientific studies have shown that 30% of people learn best through visual thinking, 45% use a combination of words and images and 25% think in words only. Using this knowledge, we were able to test the effectiveness of corporate screensavers by carrying out our own survey. We found that in many cases, there was a clear information overload with too much conveyed to the recipient in one go, leading to none of the important points actually sinking in. We have designed our new corporate screensaver communication tool to alleviate this problem and make it easier for organization's to clearly and succinctly convey important messages and alerts to their employee base."
The DeskAlerts corporate screensaver tool is just one of a number of employee messaging systems developed by the team. The DeskAlerts system allows firms to send different types of messages and content, including video, HTML, flash and images to employee computers in ways that cannot easily be ignored, set aside or missed.
