One-Day Meditation Retreat at White Sands Buddhist Center October 12, 2013
Titusville, Florida (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- White Sands Buddhist Center (WSBC), a Buddhist monastery in Mims, Florida, will host a One-Day Meditation Retreat for English speaking people on Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will include meditation instruction and guidance in Buddhist practice geared to both beginners and experienced practitioners. Vegetarian lunch for participants will be provided.
The retreat will be led by Ven. Khai Thien, PhD., a Zen master in the Lam Te Chuc Thanh (Vietnamese) Dharma Lineage of Rinzai Zen and the Abbot of WSBC. A talk will also be given by Rev. Morris Sekiyo Sullivan, Sensei (Dharma Teacher) for Volusia Buddhist Fellowship.
There is no charge to attend, but registration is required. Registration forms are available on the “News” page at http://www.cattrang.org.
WSBC was established in 2005 on 20 acres in rural Mims. It now has an expansive meditation hall, peaceful meditation gardens and a collection of granite Buddhist monuments and now situated on 32 acres.
The center holds regular services with chanting in English and Vietnamese every Saturday at 5:00 p.m., along with meditation and services in English on the first Sunday of each month. This is one of four annual One-Day retreats held in English. There are also four annual three-day retreats in Vietnamese with translation available.
