The Grand Opening of SAE Institute’s New NYC Campus to Feature Skylar Grey, Bob Power, and Just Blaze
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- SAE Institute, recently cited by Vibe Magazine as being the best audio engineering school in America, will hold a grand opening event for its New York campus on Tuesday night, October 22. Special guests will include studio engineer Darren Moore, mastering engineer Chris Gehringer, Grammy-nominated producer/engineer Bob Power, superstar hip hop producer and TV host Just Blaze, and Grammy-nominated Interscope Records recording artist Skylar Grey.
"After 15 years in the city and the last 10 years in Herald Square, we're very excited to be in our new Chelsea location at the center of New York's bustling tech scene," says Michael Morrell, Campus Director for SAE Institute New York.
The evening will include studio demonstrations by:
• Darren Moore - Chief Engineer at Manhattan Center, who has worked such artists as David Bowie, Ja Rule, Wyclef Jean, Missy Elliott, The Roots, and Duran Duran.
• Chris Gehringer - genre-defining hip hop mastering engineer at Sterling Sound, who has worked with such artists Naughty By Nature, Mobb Deep, Wu Tang Clan, Rihanna, T.I., Nelly, Nas, Joss Stone, and Nelly Furtado.
• Bob Power - producer and mixer of hundreds of pop and jazz recordings for such artists and groups as Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, India.Arie, Chaka Khan, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Miles Davis, The Roots, and Run DMC.
• Just Blaze - producer of such artists as Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Mariah Carey, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Drake, and Rick Ross. Host of BET’s “Master of the Mix.”
Also featured will be a live performance by songwriter and Grammy-nominated Interscope Records singer Skylar Grey, who has collaborated with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., and Alex Da Kid.
SAE New York occupies two floors at 218 West 18th Street. Notable tenants in this recently renovated building include Company 3, a comprehensive post-production facility; Microsoft's Yammer, an enterprise social network; and the new U.S. headquarters for the Red Bull Music Academy.
Along with new classrooms, studios, and expanded facilities, students at the SAE New York campus also have access to the latest recording and studio equipment.
“In addition to continuing our tradition of training our audio engineering students on both a Neve 88R and an SSLG+ console, we now have an Audient 8024 console,” says Morrell. “We also have all new Pro Tools 11 systems, new drum kits and microphones, and an impressive list of new analog and digital outboard gear.”
Along with SAE New York’s administrators, faculty, students, and special guests, representatives from SAE campuses across the U.S., Europe, and Australia will also be attending the launch event.
