Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation Announces Next Support Group Meeting With Special Guest Mary Jo Buttafuoco
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- The Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation is excited to announce that Mary Jo Buttafuoco will be speaking at the next support group meeting in Beverly Hills on Saturday, October 5, 2013, at 11:00 am. An inspiration to facial paralysis patients, Mary Jo Buttafuoco will be leading a group discussion on “Re-Inventing Your Life After Facial Paralysis”.
“I am very pleased to have Mary Jo speak at our next support group meeting. She became a board member of the Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation after undergoing facial paralysis surgery several years ago. Her personal experiences are always an inspiration to other group members,” said Babak Azizzadeh, MD, FACS.
Attendees of the support group will not only get to discuss experiences with Mary Jo, but they will also be able to share stories, treatment methods, and provide encouragement to one another. Family members of facial paralysis patients are also invited to attend, as they are a critical component of a patient’s healing process.
“We love having family members involved during support group meetings. It’s important for them to hear from our guest speakers, like Mary Jo, to better help their loved ones in their journeys. We hope our support groups are a welcoming, comfortable environment where patients, guest speakers, and family members openly share and support one another,” said Dr. Azizzadeh.
The Facial Paralysis & Bell’s Palsy Foundation is an organization committed to supporting community involvement and continued research in the field of facial paralysis.
The foundation is made up of a board of facial paralysis experts who work together to support patients through every step of the process.
"We understand that a facial paralysis diagnosis can be overwhelming, and that's why we at the foundation work together to create a supportive, encouraging environment in which patients can learn about the latest advances in treatments and help each other through the process," said Dr. Azizzadeh.
