In Support of Breast Cancer Awareness, Rogers & Hollands Jewelers Launches Ice for the Cure
Muskegon, MI (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- Rogers & Hollands Jewelers being the largest family owned and operated jewelry chain in the country, knows a thing or two about matters of love and bringing people together to celebrate emotional connections. During the month of October, Rogers & Hollands will make a donation to the Be Here Campaign for Breast Wellness benefiting the brand new Mercy Health Comprehensive Breast Center in Muskegon, MI with each purchase of a Canadian Ice Diamond limited edition pin.
Recently, The American Cancer Society reported that an estimated 232,340 women will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and 39,620 women will die of breast cancer in the United States in 2013. The good news is that breast cancer is extremely treatable if caught in the early stages. The key to preventing this deadly disease is increased awareness and early screening.
To kick off the campaign, the local jeweler has invited Canadian Ice Diamond Ambassador and former Miss Universe, Natalie Glebova, to the Muskegon store to help in their efforts of giving back. On October 11th, Glebova will host an in-store meet and greet event and will be giving pink-long stem roses, donated by local florist, Wasserman’s Flowers, to the first 500 guests. Wasserman’s will also be helping to decorate the store with floral arrangements and tiaras.
“We are so thankful to be part of this community, and want to give back in a way that is meaningful and lasting,” Kathy Kadet, VP of Marketing of Rogers & Hollands. “Breast cancer has a devastating impact on families, including mine, and if we can give to a cause that will help women with early detection, perhaps we can be part of something bigger, like saving lives.”
The Canadian Ice Diamond Collection in itself speaks to a larger cause, since these diamonds are mined with sustainable development and environmental standards at heart. These diamonds are crafted by masterful artisans, exhibiting one-of-a-kind quality for anyone’s taste. In celebration of the event, Canadian Ice has designed a custom Canadian Ice For The Cure Limited Edition Pendant, and $100 from every pendant sale will go to the Breast Center.
With the help of WMUS-FM radio, the newly fashioned, high tech store will be “pinked out” for the celebration including an information booth manned by the Mercy Health Comprehensive Breast Center. Representatives from Mercy Health will be on-hand at the event offering expertise and take home materials on the new center, breast cancer prevention and awareness. Mark Dixon from WMUS -FM will also be on-location to interview Glebova and give away some Canadian Ice jewelry.
“At one time or another, every woman has a moment of concern about their breast health,” Kelly Jensen, PA-C, High Risk Coordinator and Supervisor for Mercy Health Comprehensive Breast Center in Muskegon. “We’re here to ensure the women in our community have every resource available to them in the fight against breast cancer, from the most advanced screening to personalized treatment plans and ongoing support. We are thankful to Rogers and Hollands for choosing us as their partner to promote and impact breast health.”
Guests can also make donations to the Breast Center during the in-store event October 11th. For every $5 donation made, Rogers & Hollands will issue the donor a $25 gift card to use towards a jewelry purchase.
