A leading academic healthcare provider in New York City recently signed with QualiTest to control their automated end-to-end ICD-10 testing support services across multiple locations and systems. Competing against half a dozen other testing companies, QualiTest was selected to perform the organization’s testing because of their innovative approach to ICD-10 testing.
“Of the competing companies, QualiTest was the only one who gave us an option besides the use of cross-walks. QualiTest’s system of natively-coded data and test automation accelerators proved to be both of a higher quality and about half the cost of the other options we were presented with, so it was abundantly clear that they were the best choice for this project,” said the provider’s QA manager.
The QualiTest method is made up of adding value to CDI and coder readiness benefits, setting up a system of automated regression testing suites, and internal and external testing with special regard to revenue impact testing, to name a few. This, on top of the use of the data set and automated accelerators, is what enables QualiTest to provide such high-quality results at half the cost of typical cross-walks and GEM-focused methodologies.
At first, the organization was skeptical, so QualiTest provided a two week POC, during which, the test team demonstrated their ability to load data into the Epic, Cerner, and 3M systems, as well as to test on an end-to-end basis. This testing including using an 837 claim with was successfully adjudicated by the test team and their natively-coded data set.
“We were happy to provide a Proof of Concept for the client for free, because we were confident that doing so would show them how much value our services would add to their organization,” said Yaron Kottler, CEO QualiTest US. “We’re proud to say that the hospital has signed an agreement to work with six to ten of our engineers and dedicated experts for an eight-month period of time, which should prove sufficient for us to answer all of their ICD-10 testing needs and concerns.”
