Lakeview Health Attracts Acclaimed Addiction Medicine Doctor for Chief Medical Officer Role

Renowned addition expert set to become new Lakeview Health Chief Medical Officer.

We were looking for someone who could set a new course as the new standard of care. Dr. Warner’s national reputation made her an obvious choice.

Lakeview Health, a nationally recognized alcohol and drug treatment campus, has officially named Dr. Melissa Lee Warner as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Warner is a renowned expert in abstinence-based 12-step model drug and alcohol treatment and a frequent speaker on addiction medicine with a specialization in chronic pain. Dr. Warner will be working with Chief of Staff Dr. William S. Jacobs in the center’s continued partnership with the University of Florida’s Department of Psychiatry to advance the field of addiction medicine.

A graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School, Dr. Warner completed her Family Practice residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She completed a fellowship in Addiction Medicine at Willingway Hospital in Statesboro, Georgia; with a concurrent faculty development fellowship in Family Medicine at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Warner is known for her cutting edge lectures on the “The Big Book” and has a special interest in non-intoxicating approaches to pain management for recovering patients, as well as nicotine sobriety. Passionate about health, wellness and spiritual development, Dr. Warner is a Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine.
